Founders remain closely involved as the platform expands into club and academy management through Gymdesk, with a live product integration and two new apps launching October 6, 2026
STENUNGSUND, Sweden, and AUSTIN, Texas — October 6, 2026Smoothcomp AB, the competition management platform used by 40,000 active academies worldwide in combat sports, with more than 2.5 million accounts created since its start, today announced that it has become part of the Gymdesk family. Gymdesk, operated by Martial Arts on Rails, LLC and backed by Five Elms Capital, provides management software to martial arts and fitness academies globally.
Smoothcomp will continue to operate under its own name, with its current team, product, and roadmap in place. Smoothcomp's founders — Martin Janson (CEO), Martin Varghult (CPO), and Ricard Carneborn (CSO) — continue in their roles as part of the new company.
The change brings no immediate impact to organizers, academies, or athletes using the platform: existing events, registrations, and integrations continue to operate as before.
